Shots...Stranded Members....

Yesterday we went to the doctor for Araya's 6 month check up and to get her shots. She now weighs 16 lbs 3 oz and is 26 inches long. She did really good through the whole appointment even though we had to wait a little bit because they were short a nurse. While we where there James got a call to come and do a vehicle search. Finally the nurse came in to give Araya her shots and she started crying before they even stuck her. She was mad that we were pinning her down. We had to wait to make sure there weren't any side affects and James had to go, so I waited while he went home and changed then he came back and got me. We came home hung out for a little while then James went to work. I decided to strip Araya down and let her try to feed herself. She really enjoyed it and didn't do to bad of a job.

It was his supervisors birthday, he was going to go out to eat with them then come home early since he got called out. He called me at 9:30pm saying he had to stop by the station then would be on his way home. 1 hour later he called me and said that was talking to another agent and lost track of time. He was finally on his way home and saw a car on the side of the road. It had been snowing for the last couple of days and there is 5 inches of snow so far. He walked up to the car to make sure they were all right but her husband had walked to Conrad to get help. James tracked him down and asked him if they needed any help. They had blown a tire and were on there way to Canada to visit her family. They were students going to BYU-Idaho and she hadn't been home since she got married 6 months ago. James finding out they were Mormon told them they could come and stay at our house. Being students I'm sure having to stay in a motel would have put a dent in there budget. They got all settled in around 12:30am and needed to be up early so they could be on there way. I made them breakfast while we waited for the tire shop to open, then she did my dishes to say thank-you. The guys headed out to fix the tire and we stayed behind and chatted. She had called her dad and said that she felt bad for imposing on us. He made a comment to her which I loved, "would you do the same for them? Then there is no reason to feel bad, it is service." It felt so good to be able to help them out and if we are ever in that situation I hope there is someone that would help us out.

Good story....none of it surprises me about James bringing them home and you taking care of them, that's what it's all about. I know that's the way James grew up, serving, and you must have grown up the same way. You'll be blessed, "do it unto the least of these".
