1 year old

For Araya's first birthday party we had a couple of friends over for dinner, cake and ice cream. As we started to sing to her she kept looking all over to see what was going on, She did like the candle though. We gave her a huge piece of cake and some ice cream. She took the ice cream off her plate and set it on the table then ate her cake.

Our friends gave her 10 $1 bills,

The Cox's gave her a shopping cart, and here is a picture of her walking towards me.

And we gave her a pony! Ok so it's not a real pony, but this was one of my favorite toys growing up and we found one that she could play on so we had to get it for her. It only took a couple of times and she learned how to make it bounce.

Araya has grown so much and we have really enjoyed her being in our family. So many things have happened in the last month for her. She started walking a week before her first birthday, we thought she might never walk and were relieved when she did. But before she could walk she learned how to climb up her slide. This kid can climb just about anything, stairs are so easy for her now, she goes up and down them with no problem. But since she has started walking she thinks she can just walk down them and has taken a couple of tumbles. (the stairs are only 3 high so she isn't falling that far). She has gotten 2 new teeth, her top corners (the ones right next to her front teeth). Oh and she hasn't gotten her front two teeth in yet, so she looks a little funny when she smiles but she is still way cute.
